Our Story

The Emporium is an independent, family run homewares and gift shop, located in the idyllic Derbyshire countryside. We sell unique, statement pieces for your home that you simply won't find anywhere else. But where did we begin? And who are we? 

The Emporium was founded by Maria, an interior designer who, after running a successful show home business for more than 10 years, had built a collection of ex-show home furniture that clients no longer needed. This furniture was as good as new, but was sitting in storage collecting dust. All those years as an interior designer also gave Maria a wealth of knowledge about where to source the most unique and one off pieces that can't be found on the high street.

So, in November 2015, The Emporium Derby was officially launched. Tucked away in The Courtyard, it's an Aladdin's cave of unique pieces. We sell ex-show furniture, new furniture, gifts, artwork, homewares and lighting to name but a few. 

Now, we have a small team of interior designers and interior architecture designers who can all help you be inspired and sort out whatever project you may have, big or small. We can come up with colour schemes, source furniture and supply all the accessories you need.

Our website is brimming with treasures available in our store and to order from our suppliers.
